Welcome to myLaminin, the most complete, integrated, and secure Research Data Management (RDM) platform on the market, supporting the full RDM lifecycle from data collection through to data archiving, with support for the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) and Indigenous data sovereignty principles.
Designed by and for Principal Investigators (PIs) and their teams, the blockchain-enabled, research-agnostic platform supports the management of globally-distributed team collaboration, data collection, agreement management with eSignature, role-based data repository management, integrated Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols, and has a complete audit trail. With our SOC2 Type II certification, PIPEDA compliance, cloud or on-prem data storage options, we're committed to meeting regulatory requirements and supporting data sovereignty.
We know that researchers in the health sciences and clinical trial space face 3 key challenges:
Managing sensitive and large datasets securely.
Facilitating collaboration without compromising data sovereignty.
Ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations (HIPAA, PHIPA, PIPEDA, CFR Part 11 in the US, or the new NIST 800-171).
We know that to do this, researchers must:
Establish solid Data Management Plans with secure data collection methodology,
Present those plans to Institutional Research Ethics Boards,
Manage access to PHI data,
Guard against data breaches and IP theft, and
Effectively manage distributed team members and global collaborators and agreements.
myLaminin supports all of this. It's a platform that researchers love and IT can get behind.
Several myLaminin functions deliver on this promise including:
A robust data collection (eSurvey) module,
Team management,
Agreement management leveraging Adobe Acrobat Sign eSignature capabilities,
A full Research Ethics Board module, and
A real-time audit trail of all actions taken on the research data set.

Data Collection (eSurvey)
myLaminin provides a robust survey module that supports both classical and longitudinal surveys with PHI data management, participant consent forms, medical ontology, and time zone capabilities. It’s an intuitive and contemporary solution that allows for the establishment of role-based access to categories of survey views and historical data upload features.
Data Storage
The myLaminin project data repository is stored securely - either on AWS-hosted cloud servers or on-prem. With a user-friendly and intuitive user interface it allows researchers to establish a research data repository that supports their research methodologies and analysis requirements.
Researchers can rest assured that all data is encrypted at rest and in motion with strict role-based access controls. myLaminin supports Data Sovereignty to ensure regional hosting of data and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Research Collaboration & Sharing
There are powerful data sharing controls for team members as well as external collaborators. Inviting external collaborators is as simple as knowing their email address. The addition of a team member initiates an invitation, and establishes their access to PHI data given their role on the project. Team members receive a secure email invitation, digitally sign any agreements that may be required, and then they are given access to the data repository directories commensurate with their role on the project.
Institutional Research Ethics Board Support
myLaminin also provides a complete REB module that supports the complete REB workflow from PIs to REB Administrators, assignment of reviewers, an iterative review process, and assignment of approval certificates. It’s a completely configurable platform allowing for the use of institutional forms and workflows.
Real-time Audit Trails
All activity undertaken by any team member is tracked and recorded. This is a real-time and accessible audit trail of all transactions and is completely searchable, filterable, and sortable.
A recycle bin in the research data repository gives the PI or RA access to anything that may have been inadvertently or maliciously deleted.
Bluetooth Integration & Automation
myLaminin is now working to incorporate Bluetooth integration for IoMT (Internet of Medical Things) medical devices to securely detect, pair, and transmit patient data directly into the myLaminin data repository without unnecessary and insecure data handling.
myLaminin is SOC2 Type II certified, NIST 800-171 compliant, and has worked with The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada to address The Personal Information Privacy and Electronic Data Act (PIPEDA) requirements. This gives IT teams and researchers confidence in the governance, policies, and tools used to maintain system data integrity and security.
myLaminin delivers:
Enhanced data security and regulatory compliance,
Simplified workflows for sensitive research and clinical trial management, and
Confidence in data integrity and sovereignty.
With myLaminin, researchers can focus on breakthroughs, not bureaucracy.
